4 CDROM Chapter1 - BALANCE
1. PERSONAL BALANCE
Balance= Weight Fall Without Side Load - The way we carry our body weight=
Counter Lever System - Exercises of counter rotation to separate body weight
and body activity:
(1) Frontal (spine) (2) Lateral (spine) (3) Rotary (shoulders) (4) Hip &
Leg (hip joints)
Weight Position does not change while body is moving - Exercises of counter
rotation to transfer weight vertically. Three positions: On foot (Foot in
position) On Middle (Center position) On Foot (Receive).
2. COUPLE BALANCE
Awareness of center between Man & Woman. Man is not the center of the couple.
Hands monitor center of couple="core" - Core is not used physically for
leading of following - Dance by feeling where the core is - Exercises with
Pilates Ball to build your awareness of the "center". Chapter2 - BALANCE OF MOVEMENT
1. Four Forces
(1) Gravity=Discussed in Chapter 1 (2) Inertia=Force that carries a previous
energy (3) Centripetal Force=Inside of the Turn (4) Centrifugal Force= Outside
of the Turn
Centripetal is a force and Centrifugal is a resistance (delay) to a force.
We apply Centripetal Force and Centrifugal Force to a personal level and
to a couple level.
2. Motion
Motion= Mechanical Activity in the body = Preparation of weight transfer
= Moving Leg to Receiving Leg to Sending Leg. Differences between Receiving
Weight and Catching Weight. Examples: Bad examples (w/o awareness of the
forces) and Good example (using the forces) demonstrated by the couple.
3. TOTAL JOINT COORDINATION
Total activity of joint is important to keep a constant vertical weight fall
Structure of joints (Introducing Easy Doro) Total coordination from the foot
pressure (Pull&Push of toes on the floor)
Chapter3 - COMMUNICATION
1. MECHANICAL:
(1) Joints (Coordination of direct joints Man and Woman have) Visualization of
a big restaurant with many small tables. Many conversations, but always between
two joints. (2) Nerves (Toes, Center and Finger Tips) Visualization of a network
that creates a total relationship between all these satellites (=joints) (3)
Muscles (Bound Action) Visualization of energy been bound and compacted.
2. EMOTIONAL:
Moods: The mood must change in order for the body tone to change. Sensual relationship
between Man and Woman. Proximity: Awareness of the space between Man and Woman
which can carry information and be used as communicator.
3. FLOW OF ENERGY
Energy Direction: Visualization of water which must be guided without abrupt
changes. Man and Woman must decide a clear forward and backward direction of
energy flow. Angle of entry: Energy must target the correct hip joint in order
to create a good "push and pull".
Chapter4 - MUSIC & PURPOSE
Music: The music should go in every single joint in the body. 4 categories
of musical interpretation. On time, Legato <L>, Staccato <S>, Rubato
<R>. Purpose: one message / one purpose . Movement <M>, Rhythm <R>,
Volume <V>
